Literature Project

Are you looking for a way to help your students understand text? Then the “Literature Project,” a workshop focusing on the study of reading strategies, is for you. We will be looking at strategies like making connections, questioning, visualizing, inferring/predicting, and synthesizing to enhance understanding for readers of all ages and interests.  Demonstration lessons will be included to allow participants to experience the strategies first hand.  The format of the class will include discussions of making meaning in all types of literature, experiencing current strategies used, and creating demonstrations of strategies learned in the text.  Idaho State Standards and how they apply to reading strategies will also be addressed.

TEXT:  Strategies That Work by Stephanie Harvey (Required) and other relevant titles that will be available for check out.
