Register for an Upcoming Common Core Workshop: The CCSS and Text Complexity: Authentic Integration of Informational Reading and Composing in Idaho’s Classrooms
The Common Core State Standards emphasize the need for students to not only read and comprehend increasingly complex texts but also to encounter a range of texts. With an emphasis on informational text, this class examines those factors that characterize text complexity, provides hands-on teaching strategies for close reading and in-depth discussions, and highlights the Common Core Standards in both reading and writing.
Just a reminder to register for the upcoming Common Core workshop facilitated by the Northwest Inland Writing Project. Sponsored by the State Department of Education, this workshop will address K-12 Common Core State Standards on March 26 at the Red Lion. Registration will start at 8:00am, and the workshop will run from 8:30am – 4:30pm. Breakfast and lunch will be provided. Please register as soon as possible.
